Zuleika Lasten Honored with MESV 2025 International Award for Global Financial Leadership

During the gala dinner of the International Women’s Forum held in Curaçao, Zuleika Lasten, Partner at Soxia B.V., received the MESV 2025 International Award in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the global financial sector. The award celebrates collaborative efforts to foster economic growth and innovation on an international scale. With over 25 years of experience, Zuleika Lasten leads the tax and financial services division of Soxia B.V. from offices in Curaçao and Florida. Soxia specializes in tax advisory, accounting, and administrative support, aiming to promote economic development and cross-border investment through strategic growth and client-centered global solutions and partnerships. Prior to founding Soxia, Lasten spent 18 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Dutch Caribbean, active in Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, St. Maarten, Saba, and St. Eustatius, and PwC Netherlands, where she served as Tax Partner and Head of the Latin American Desk, among other roles. As Partner at PwC Dutch Caribbean/Netherlands (2000–2018), Vice Chair of the Curaçao International Financial Services Association (2012–2019), Chair of the “From Red Tape to Red Carpet” Committee (2018–2020), and Chair of the Supervisory Board of the Gaming Control Board (2018–2022), she contributed to the development of dozens of laws and policies aimed at broadening the tax base, reducing bureaucracy, strengthening the financial sector, and positioning Curaçao as an attractive destination for investors and economic growth. The International Women’s Forum, held from July 24 to 29 at the Marriott Beach Resort, brought together Curaçaoan entrepreneurs and prominent Brazilian business leaders, including Regina Nunes, First Lady of São Paulo; Thatiana Hardt Souto Turbian, President of the international women’s network GSCM Muhler; Mary Elbe Queiroz, leading tax expert at Queiroz Advogados and Vice Chair of the Brazilian Fiscal Council; and Dr. Elaine Moreira, specialist in gastroenterology and integrative medicine. Organized by GCSM Mulher and CINEX, the event highlighted Curaçao’s strategic position as a hub for international trade and investment. “Receiving the MESV 2025 International Award is a recognition of our collective work,” said Zuleika Lasten. “Together with our partners and teams, we strive for growth and collaboration, both locally and internationally.
